◐ FAQ

Common Questions

Is medical camouflage a permanent tattoo?+
It is considered semi-permanent. While the pigment remains in the skin for several years, it may fade slightly over time and require a touch-up every 3 to 5 years.
Can all scars be camouflaged?+
The scar must be at least 12 months old, stable, and lighter than the surrounding skin. Dark or hyperpigmented scars are usually not candidates for this treatment.
Does the pigment change color with a tan?+
No. The pigment remains a fixed color. If you tan, your natural skin will darken while the camouflaged area remains the same, making it slightly more visible.
Is the procedure painful?+
Most patients describe the sensation as a light scratching. We apply a topical numbing cream before the procedure to ensure maximum comfort.
How do you match the skin color?+
We use a sophisticated color-matching system to blend custom pigments that mimic the various undertones (warm, cool, olive) of your natural skin.
